Yu Jianhua said that the problem of empty containers is due to the excessive volume of new containers put in during the period of "one box is hard to find", low domestic storage costs, and a large number of empty containers flowing back in the short term, as well as seasonal regularity. To some extent, it also reflects that the international market is still optimistic about our export capacity in the next stage.

Recently, CCTV reporters learned from the largest container loading and unloading terminal in Ningbo Zhoushan Port that the number of empty containers stored in the port is an acceptable range. Port production data show that since March, the daily average container throughput has reached 31600 standard containers, an increase of 14.5% compared to the same period last year.

As of March 13, the amount of empty containers stacked in the port was about 410000 TEUs, a decrease of 60000 TEUs in two weeks. According to the latest customs data, since late February, the volume of export containers has continued to grow.
