On April 25, the "White Paper on Intellectual Property Protection in China's Apparel Industry (2020)" was officially released in Beijing. This is the first white paper to show the status quo of intellectual property protection in the apparel industry.

Infringement, counterfeiting, plagiarism, piracy, and copycats are everywhere in the apparel field, seriously jeopardizing the interests of related enterprises, and threatening the balanced development of related industrial structures.Infringement has caused serious damage to China's clothing innovation.

Especially with the vigorous development of new business formats such as e-commerce and live streaming, whether it is traditional platforms such as Taobao and JD, or new platforms such as Douyin and Kuaishou, the turnover of apparel products is in the forefront of the industry. This brings benefits such as broadening channels and increasing marketing innovation, but it also creates new problems such as low infringement costs, high rights maintenance costs, and high incidence of cases.

In combination with the theme of this year’s World Intellectual Property Day-intellectual property rights and small and medium-sized enterprises, to bring creativity to the market, the release of this white paper is just the right time to let more "China's smart manufacturing" and "Chinese creativity" in clothing The industry takes root and is recognized by consumers around the world.
